FAQ

Short, factual answers about what vContact does today.

What is vContact?

vContact lets you create one verified contact profile, share it once, and keep trusted people's phonebooks up to date over time.

Is vContact available now?

Yes. vContact is available now on Android via Google Play. An iPhone app is still in the works.

Do people need the app to save my details?

Not always. Share links and QR codes can still help someone view or save your details before they install the app.

What does vContact upload from my phonebook during matching?

The current matching flow sends normalized phone numbers from in-scope contacts. It does not upload contact names, email addresses, postal addresses, notes, or photos from your device phonebook during matching.

Which contacts does vContact update?

Only contacts stored in your Google account on the device. Contacts stored only on the SIM, only in phone storage, or in other apps' accounts are left untouched — and vContact never deletes a contact.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. Use the Delete account page or the app's account menu. Deletion permanently deletes your profile and photo, and stops phone-number discovery.

What happens to links or QR codes I already shared if I delete my account?

Previously shared links, QR codes, and contact cards will show that your profile is no longer available. Contact copies other people already saved to their phones stay on their devices.

Can I sign in again later after deleting my account?

Yes. Signing in again with the same phone number signs you back into the same account and reconnects the people already synced with you. Your profile content was deleted, so you set it up again.

Will there be an iPhone app?

That is the intention. Android is live on Google Play now; the iPhone app is still in progress.
